As a new canner this was exactly what I was looking for. The science (but not too much) behind canning and how to get started. I'm a dozen jars into the year with three batches down and couldn't be happier. The book does need to be read through for all the text on how to can to make sure you do everything (not all steps to proper canning are in every recipe) but if you read the book and follow the recipe's I think you'll come out with some great stuff for you pantry or gift basket!

The book arrived promptly, and it was in good shape.
I matched it with my older one, and felt the few recipes left out should have been included, as they were not obsolete as far as safety was concerned.
I did not like, however, the format. It was much nicer and easier to read in the older version.

I purchased this to have the knowledge of different methods of food preservation at my fingertips, and this has not disappointed! I have already referenced it for freezing green beans and know that I'll be using it even more come next spring. I love all of the different recipes it includes too, and the only thing I'd change about it is having it in hard cover instead of paperback. But I'm going to tape the binder so that it'll stay intact much longer. Love this and can't say enough good about it!

Received the book and thought I needed new glasses due to the blurry pages.
When I found two pages with solid black and gray ink unable to read anything,
I tried to contact the seller. Now four weeks later I have heard nothing! I do not
recommend the seller and can't review the book because I amionable to read it!
