Cuisinart updates a classic! Our brushed stainless pressure cooker is safe, easy to use, cooks up to 70% faster than conventional methods and cooks healthier, too. Steam trapped in the pot builds up pressure that creates hotter temperatures, and the pot is so tightly sealed that vitamins and minerals can't boil away. Foods stay moist and flavors stay true. Features variable pressure and temperature setting, plus Browning, Simmer and Saute functions for perfect roasts, stews, vegetables, cheesecake or custard. The Cuisinart Pressure Cooker is absolutely safe, with a lid that has to be locked in place before pressure builds, and stays locked until pressure is released. Cook faster, eat healthier, with Cuisinart!

"Defective design." 2010-09-03By

After seeing all of the rave reviews, I decided to buy this pressure cooker. The first one was defective and never did seal. The instructions and service line were horrendous. I figured it must be a fluke since so many people seemed to be so in love with their cooker so I sent it back and bought another one- same problem. There won't be a third time.
"Grateful I made the purchase..." 2010-08-29By
Amateur_CookI bought the pressure cooker because I will be starting an Internship that has me traveling 3+ hours (to and from combined) a day. I needed something that would allow me to make meals in less time and enough that I can freeze portions for future dinners and lunches. I have done pretty good with using my hotplate, toaster oven, and microwave for the last few years. And I know how to make simple yet healthy meals. I wanted to branch out a little more and decided to research pressure cookers. I found this one to be at a moderate price and enough positive reviews. I also bought the "Cooking Under Pressure" cookbook by Lorna Sass because it seems everyone defers to her. The electric pressure cooker arrived within a week of ordering (with the free shipping selected). The instruction book was very helpful with cleaning, storage, and cooking tips. I just made my first meal (Chicken Gumbo from the Sass cookbook) and I cannot say enough about the deliciousness that came out of that pot. I love chicken and can pretty much have it at every meal. But the way that the electric pressure cooker infused flavors and made it taste so tender, goes beyond words and must be experienced firsthand. If I only made this meal, the investment in the electric pressure cooker would be well worth it. I'm looking forward to making a cheesecake next week.
"Now I can cook like Mom in less than 30 percent of the time!" 2010-08-27By

I took years to perfect the art of making Chinese soups. There is a technique that requires browning and simmering the bones to extract the flavor and collagen from the protein. The old fashion way takes two hours or more to achieve. This wonderful pot takes only about 20-30 minutes under pressure! I had never used a pressure cooker and was very cautious after my mom had a mishap in our kitchen when I was younger. I remember seeing my mom with burn marks on her face from opening the lid on the Presto much too early. I was encouraged to see this electric cooker on the Iron Chef episode with Bobby Flay. He was able to make his stew tender and flavorful within his one hour time constraint!
Things I love about this appliance:
Easy to set and walk away with cook, simmer, saute, and warm.-I can fit in a quick workout prior to chowing down on my short ribs or stew!
Nice coated pot with a very sturdy lid that locks in and does not release unless the pressure is safe!
Quick release valve pressure feature or slow normal cool down release for the lid.
Neat and easy to clean pot.
Well constructed pot that feels sturdy and safe to contain the pressure and the heat.
I continue to experiment with this wonderful pot and I look forward to further utilize a two or three stage soup or stew. it should be much easier and faster to add the quicker cooking herbs using the quick release valve after the "base" of the soup is completed.
"Ordering process" 2010-08-26By
CustomerI'm sure the item is as advertize however when ordering there should be a correction period. It said free shipping! It also said if done in one hour and 5 seconds can be delivered on next day. I was not presented with the bill in total until order was placed. If so I would not have ordered. There needs to be a correction period and/or a clear presentation of bill and shipping before one places order.
"Fantastic product" 2010-08-21By
jmhaulseeWish I had tried this years ago. I've used a stovetop pressure cooker for 25 years and have thrown it away. This electric one is awesome, fast and easy to use. I can now come from work, throw something frozen in and have a great meal is less time that it would have taken to unthaw for regular stovetop cooking. I researched these and the Cuisinart CPC-600 was rated best on websites I visited. Now I know why! Give this a try - - you're gonna love it!
